© Wadley's Funeral Service Purcell, Oklahoma August 2005 November 6, 1919 ~ August 30, 2005 Funeral services for Van Holland, 85, of Purcell were held September 3, 2005 at Lakeside Church of God in Norman with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Interment was at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of Wadley,s Funeral Service. Mr. Holland died August 30, 2005 in Purcell. He was born November 6, 1919 in Davenport, the son of Joe and Ada Emily [Anderson] Holland. He was reared in the Norman and Oklahoma City area, attending school at Bald Hill Elementary in the Springer, Okla., area. He moved to Purcell in May 2005 from Norman. Mr. Holland enlisted into the United States Army September 30, 1941 in Oklahoma City. He was honorably discharged Octomer 5, 1945 at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. He was a self-employed welder and worked in the oil fields, Dennis Brunner Welding and CMI in Oklahoma City. On September 22, 1986 he married Dorothy [Rains] Rollins in Van Buren, Ark. Mr. Holland was a member of the Lakeside Church of God in Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Elmer Holland, Emerald Holland, Hershell Holland, Bernice Welch, Opal Duke, Dorothy Ross, Jewell Harrison and Lee Holland. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Purcell; children, Bobbie Sue Luttrell and her husband, Terry, and Helen Bunn, all of Ardmore, Joe Holland and his wife, Susan, of Borger, Texas, Linda Crossgrove of Oneida, Tenn., and Sharon J. Dungan and her husband, Tom, and Larry Rollins and his wife, Debbie, all of Norman; one sister, Mazie Dean of El Reno; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jimmy Burn Jr., Steven Luttrell, Erick Luttrell, David Luttrell, Jeremy Holland, Terry Luttrell and Lee Holland. Honorary pallbearers were the Sanctuary Sunday School class taught by R.J. Byrd. |
© Winans Funeral Home Maysville Oklahoma October 2022 November 3, 1946 ~ October 25, 2022 On November 3, 1946 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Royce Lee Holland was born to P. Q. and Warnde [Scarbrough] Holland. He passed from this life on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the age of 75 years. Royce was a longtime resident of Maysville. He served his country in the U. S. Army where he was honored with the Basic Missilemans Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Expert, and Marksman. He married Barbara Sue Haley on October 8, 1982 in Gainesville, Texas and they were married for 34 years at the time of her passing in 2017. Royce worked as a roustabout for Shebester Well Service and a Garvin County District 1 worker until he retired. Royce loved his family and pulling pranks on them. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on cars, mowers, and in general just taking things apart and putting them back together. Royce will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Royce was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Holland; sister, Barbara Webster; brother, Tommy Holland; daughter, Lori Webster; and nephew, John Sullivan. Funeral services will be held at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville. Arrangements are under the direction of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
