Sammie Lee "Sam" "Grumps" Henry
June 14, 1946 ~ March 13, 2021

Sammie Lee Henry, known as “Grumps” by family and friends, age 74 of Maysville, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Norman Regional Hospital. Sam was born June 14, 1946 in Plains, Kansas, 1 of 6 children born to Willard and Jessie [Bromwell] Henry.

He was raised in St. John and attended school there.

Sam then attended college where he studied petroleum engineering before taking a job in the oil field. Sam worked in the oil field for many years, retiring from Anadarko Petroleum Company as a Completion Superintendent.

Sam's life changed forever when he met a young lady named Judy [Kittrell] Vick. They were the perfect match, and they made their way to Vegas to get married on July 31, 1993.

They made their home in Maysville for the next 26 years.

When he wasn't working, you could probably find Sam at the golf course. He would fish on occasion, he loved watching old westerns and especially John Wayne and Gunsmoke.

Sam stayed active in his grandchildren’s lives and very rarely missed an activity or sporting event.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed!
