Maysville, Oklahoma March 2021 August 22, 1930 ~ March 15, 2021 Bob R. Foraker, 90, of Maysville, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 15, 2021. He was born August 22, 1930 to Harry and Flossie [Alexander] Foraker near Bowlegs, Oklahoma. He attended elementary school at Bowlegs and Seminole. At the beginning of the 8th grade he left Seminole to attend Chilocco Indian School near Newkirk, Oklahoma. He graduated from there in 1948. While at Chilocco he met the love of his life, Joyce Nelson. They were united in marriage on July 5, 1949 and were married 67 years before her passing in 2016. Bob and Joyce made their first home in Erick, Oklahoma then back to Seminole until the final move to Maysville in 1963. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and the past several years had been attending the 1st United Methodist Church with his son Bobby and family. He was a very proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and the Oklahoma National Guard. He was a welder, a trade learned while at Chilocco. He was a hard worker and could build and weld anything. He later retired from Tinker AFB in 1993. He was an avid hunter all through his life. He loved his family and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed family cookouts, Saturday morning breakfasts and a McDonald's biscuit and sausage. Bob is survived by his four children: Sandra Newby and husband Ron of Marlow; Bobby Foraker and wife Vickie of Maysville; Diane Hall of Pauls Valley and Philip Foraker of Purcell. Also his grandchildren: Julie Harris and husband Kirk of Marlow; Josh Newby and wife Starla, of Ardmore; Keith Foraker and wife Brooke of Paoli; Kevin Foraker and wife Kati of Maysville; eight great grandsons and one sister, Olive Bickerstaff and numerous nieces, nephews and friends made throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, two grandsons, Kyle Foraker and Barrett Hall; brother, Douglas Foraker and sisters Vivianna Wallace and Irene Merrilat. Services will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Maysville with Rev. Mike Deviney officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery |
