Pauls Valley, Oklahoma October 1990 March 15, 1906 ~ October 5, 1990 Millard Dobson, 84 passed away Friday, October 5, 1990 at the Pauls Valley hospital. Services for Mr. Dobson were held Monday, October 8, at 2 p.m. at the Maysville Assembly of God Church. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery under direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home. Millard Leonard Dobson was born March 15, 1906 at Bristow to John and Stacy Riley Dobson. Mr. Dobson was a longtime resident of this area. He came here with his family about 1923. The family lived on the old home place on Story road for many years. Millard loved to play dominoes and fish. He is preceded in death by his wife Minnie Lee Johnson in 1935. He had been affiliated with the Baptist Church in his younger days. Survivors include three children: Elmo Dobson, of Murphy, North Carolina, Curt Dobson of Maysville, and Ruth Elaine Gardenhire of Duncan; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. He is preceded by his wife also one grandson and two granddaughters. |
Bristow, Oklahoma September 1935 February 19, 1913 ~ September 28, 1935 Mrs. Millard Dobson passed away at her home near Bristow, Saturday, September 28, 1935 following a short illness, age 22 years, 7 months and 19 days. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Johnson, in Maysville Sunday afternoon by Rev. P. E. High, with interment in Maysville cemetery. Minnie Lee Johnson was born and reared in the Maysville community, attended the Maysville public schools. She was converted and joined the First Baptist church when she was 12 years old. She was married in 1928 to Millard Dobson, to which union were born three children, their present ages being 5 years, 3 years and 1 year. Besides the husband and children Mrs. Dobson is survived by her parents and five sisters and one brother, namely: Mrs. Celia Lundy and Nora Hatfield, in California; Henry Johnson, Foster; Mrs Grover Cheatwood, and Mrs. Vemma Manering, Maysville, and Mrs Artie Gibson, Oklahoma City. Minnie Lee died from complications of having a baby. Mother and baby both died. |

Gerald Harmon of the Maysville Assembly of God officiating. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home. Mr. Dobson was born September 6, 1965, at Pauls Valley General Hospital. He died October 21, at Oklahoma Memorial Hospital at the result of an automobile accident. Phil, as he was known by all, attended most of his school years at Maysville. He was a member of the Maysville FFA and enjoyed all aspects of school life. He was a member of the 1984 graduating class. He was currently a student at Okmulgee Technical Institute and was majoring in diesel mechanics. He was a member of the Maysville Assembly of God Church. Phil was awarded the Spiritual Aims Award by the Maysville Kiwanis Club June 28, 1978. He is survived by his parents, Curt and Almeda Dobson of Maysville; two brothers, Jessie Dobson of Lawton, and Curtis Dobson of Maysville; two sisters, Mrs. Gwen Zachary of Maysville, and Mrs. Sharon Haigood of Wynnnewood; his grandparents, Millard Dobson of Maysville, and Melzine Darby of Pauls Valley; and by his nieces and nephews; Jessie and Samuel and Rachael of Lawton, Shannon and Johnny of Maysville, Steven and Clint of Maysville, and Stacy Haigood of Wynnewood. |
