Hubbard, died Saturdat=y evening at the hubbard home, 613 South Sixth Street. The body was prepared for burial and shipped to Maysville, where the funeral services were held Sunday Afternoon. Mrs Cooper is survived by her daughter, Mrs Hubbard, with whom she had been making her home during the past year; and tw brothers, Floyd and John Cooper of Maysville. Both sons were at the bedside when their aged mother passed away. Mrs Hubbard attended the funeral services in Maysville Sunday Afternoon. |
© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma June 2011 April 18, 1914 ~ June 10, 2011 Thelma "Jackie" Cooper, of Maysville was born April 28, 1914 in Staley, Oklahoma to Lewis Jack Weaver and Clara Harbison Weaver. She was nicknamed "Little Jack" by her grandmother Mary Kathryn Weaver. She passed away June 10, 2011 in Maysville, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years. Jackie lived in Maysville most of her life. She grew up in Maysville and graduated from Maysville High School in 1933 with 31 pupils in her class. She was married to Walter Marshall Cooper in Claremore, Oklahoma on October 5, 1935. A blizzard started about 4 or 5 pm that day, a sudden storm that caused them to have to honeymoon at her parents house for 3 or 4 days. Everyone was stuck inside because of the blizzard. They opened Cooper's Store in Oklahoma City in 1946 and closed it in 1950. They moved to Wayne and started Cooper's Dairy in 1950 until 1954. In 1960 they moved to Oklahoma City and started managing various apartments. They moved to Maysville in 1975 and managed Arbuckle Apartments for 15 years. She was a member of Maysville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Clara Weaver; her husband, Walter Marshall Cooper in 1991; her daughter, Sharon Calhoun in 2002; son in law, Fritz Calhoun in 2007; and brother, Luke Weaver. Surviving family include her 4 grandchildren, Marshelle Hunter and her husband, Shane, of Maysville; David Calhoun of OKC; Larry Calhoun and his wife Kathy, of Austin, Texas; and Sherry Giambaresi of Pauls Valley; 11 great grandchildren, Jay Scoggins and his wife Kayla, of Konawa; Brittney Hunter, of Killeen, Texas; Jade Arroyo and her husband Carlos, of Norman; Nick Scoggins, of Maysville; Amara Hunter, of Guthrie; Cooper Calhoun and his wife Kristen, of Minneapolis, MN.; Kendra Calhoun, of Austin, Texas; Josh Giambaresi, Brady Giambaresi, and Johna Blakemore, all of Pauls Valley; and Vinnie Giambaresi, of Ada; 12 great great grandchildren, and soon to be 14. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Maysville Church of Christ officiated by Dwight Brown and Danny Carter. Interment will be at Maysville Cemetery. He was born the 10th of 13 children, to John & Dollie Cooper, on March 20, 1924, in Maysville, OK. Shortly after graduating from Maysville High School, he entered the United States Marine Corps where he served during WWII. Following his military service, he attended Oklahoma A&M, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He was the McClain County Farm Bureau insurance agent for 27 yrs. He retired in 1987 after 30 yrs. with Oklahoma Farm Bureau. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Pryor; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, & a family he loved very much; his daughters, Christie Cooper of Maysville & DeAnn Davis & her husband, Bob of Oklahoma City; Wanda's children, David Whittaker of Barstow, CA, Bill Thomas & wife, Margo of Edmond, OK, Sharon Bumgardner & husband, Allen of Piedmont, OK, Whitney Whittaker of Oklahoma City, OK, and Casey Combs and husband, Rick of Bartlett, TN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren along with 6 brothers & sisters, Lloyd in Michigan, Tommy in Maysville, Wanda in Duncan, Lois in Mississippi, Jenna in Texas and Sue Ann in Nebraska, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. She was born on August 12, 1929 at Fall River, Kansas to Earl Harvey Felter and Meda Arstella Condon Felter. Ena married Don Shriver on May 18, 1947 in Kansas. They moved to Maysville in 1963 from Eureka, Kansas. Together, Don and Ena operated a family recreation center for the youth of Maysville for years. Ena worked for Timberlake's, Harris Pharmacy, and at the Chicken House. She enjoyed her family, being a homemaker, sewing, and shopping. In 1997, she married Tommy Cooper. Ena was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Maysville. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Donna McKee and her husband, Larry of Maysville; step-daughters, Mary Ann Huey of Maysville and Judy Booker of Sand Springs; sisters, Margaret Nichols and husband, Don of Bartlesville, and Linda Gray of Alvin, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Felter of Texas; grandchildren, Ricky Pyle and Darelyn Keim; step-grandchildren, Carey Enloe and Valisa Simmons; five great-grandchildren, Jordon Pyle, Kyle Glenn, Tyler Pyle, Emily Glenn, and Seth Pyle; five step-great-grandchildren, Ryan, Eme, Grace, and Samantha Enloe; and Riley Simmons. Ena was preceded in death by her son, Darrell "Dink" Shriver in 1966, her first husband, Don in 1994, and second husband, Tommy in 2010; brothers, Keith, Leonard, Earl, Jack, and Dean; and sisters, Myla Sue and Glennis. He passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years. Larry was a lifetime resident of Maysville, while living his life south of Rush Creek. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1967. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Larry married Pamela Sue Richards on January 17, 1970 in Gainesville, Texas. He has always been a farmer and was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked as a machinist. Larry loved his family and his dog, Patch. He enjoyed sitting in his rocking chair in his shop while drinking Dr. Pepper, listening to his records, and taking naps. Survivors include his son, Larry Cooper II and wife Misty of Pauls Valley and daughter, Susan Pope and husband Mike of Maysville. Brothers: Tommy Allen Cooper and Shane Cooper both of McAlester. Sister, Mary Ann Huey and husband Roger of Maysville. Grandchildren: Tyler Pope and Thomas Pope and wife Kaitlyn all of Maysville. Nicole Blackburn and husband Kevin and Paige Cooper all of Pauls Valley. A great granddaughter, Jolene May Pope of Maysville. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Cooper and Ramona Eaves; his spouse of 37 years Pamela Sue [Richards] Cooper; brothers, Bobby Cooper and Jimmy Cooper; and sister, Judy Booker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W.
