Zola Lorene [Ratchford] McGee
February 29, 1916 ~ July 7, 2002


Services for Zola Lorene McGee, 86, Davis, were held at the East Main Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 with Dwight Brown officiating. Interment was at the Katie Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Mrs. McGee was born on February 29, 1916 in Connerville, Okla. to James Arthur and Icie Viola [Mann] Ratchford. She died July 7, 2002 in Davis.

On October, 4 1962 she married Dee McGee in Pernell, Okla. He preceded her in death on September, 10, 1995.

She was seamstress and cook. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two brothers, Thurman Ratchford, and Homer Ratchford, both of Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Delbert McGee
May 4, 1923 ~ August 18, 2019


Delbert McGee, of Noble, passed from this life Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the age of 96 years. He was born near Katie, OK on May 4, 1923 to Johnny Clifford and Girtrue [Smith] McGee.

On July 19, 1949 Delbert married Eleanor Evanell Gentry in Gainsville, Texas. They lived the early years of their marriage in Texas then moving to OK in 1959. Delbert and Evanell celebrated 70 years of marriage in July. They have one daughter, Stephanie.

Delbert grew up in Garvin County and attended school at Katie, OK. He grew up fishing and hunting, a favorite time he shared with many throughout his life.

Delbert worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man before becoming a member of the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1947 during World War II. Delbert later worked on a large ranch in Texas before beginning a career in aviation in Fort Worth, Texas then moving to Noble. He retired from Tinker AFB in 1986.

After retirement he moved home to Garvin County for several years. During retirement he spent time with his family, fished, hunted, traveled and did wood working projects. In 2001 Delbert moved back to Noble to be near his daughter and grandchildren. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Noble. Delbert was known to his family and friends as a quiet man, with a very kind and gentle nature.

Delbert is survived by his wife Evanell of the home, sister, Pasty Lindsey of Wynnewood, Daughter, Stephanie and husband Owen Mannin of Norman, Grandchildren Sally and husband Luis Diaz of Oklahoma City, Katie and husband Ken Brown of Apex, NC, and Tim and wife Christie Mannin of Oklahoma City, and, great-grandchildren Isaac, Elias, Angelina, Reece, Gage, Davis, Emily, Carys, Addi, and Grayson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Gertie McGee, brothers, Lycia Moore and Erman McGee, and sister, Billie McGee Talmadge.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4pm-8pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Noble with interment following at 2 p.m. at the Katie Cemetery in Katie, OK.
