Oklahoma September 2021 June 24, 1934 ~ September 28, 2021 Bobby Edward Cottrell, 87, of Katie, Oklahoma was born on June 24, 1934, to Elzie and Willie Cottrell of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He passed away from this life on September 28, 2021. Bobby grew up and attended school in Wynnewood, Oklahoma until his senior year and then graduated from Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Bobby spent 2 years in the Army after high school and then he married Gwendolyn Sue Emberlin in January 1961. He worked in the box container industry at Container Corporation before moving to Michigan for 5 years, then moved back to the Texas where he worked at Simkins until he retired in 1996. He then moved back to Oklahoma to run cattle on his family farm, drink coffee with the boys, and play golf. Bobby enjoyed poker, raising cattle, driving his tractor, mowing, golf, and watching his grandkids in all their numerous events. He would play dominoes but would always say he didn't like them. Bobby never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, and you better be ready for a little teasing coming your way if you were around him very long. Bobby is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Sue Cottrell of Katie, Oklahoma, 2 daughters, Sandy Grim and husband Brian from Azle, Texas, Stacey McCaa and husband Jeff from Elmore City, Oklahoma, one sister, Betty Hoepner and husband Richard Hoepner from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. 6 grandchildren: Chase Grim, Kelsey Grim, Austin Grim, Justin Grim and wife Alex, Seth McCaa, Taryn McCaa. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Elzie and Willie Cottrell, brother Jimmy Dale Cottrell and sister Willie Louise Stuart. Funeral Services are scheduled at Katie Victory Baptist Church in Katie, Oklahoma, with the graveside services at the Katie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
