Pauls Valley, Oklahoma April 25, 2018 September 2, 1929 ~ April 25, 2018 Glenna Lee Ayres of Katie, Oklahoma was born to Garland W. and Effie Lee [Tucker] Holt on September 2, 1929 in Seymour, Texas and passed from this life on April 25, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years. Glenna grew up and attended school in Seymour, Texas. She graduated high school at Holliday, Texas. Glenna then attended Draughn’s Business College. She married John Dillard Ayres in Holliday, Texas on September 17, 1948 and they moved to Wynnewood, Oklahoma in 1949. They later made their home in Katie, Oklahoma in 1956. Glenna worked for several years in the Garvin County Treasurer's Office and drove the Katie school bus. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, watching Jeopardy, and was a wonderful cook. "Mema", as she was more commonly known as, by grandchildren and many others. She loved going to horse shows, rodeos, playdays and pig shows to watch her grandkids. She will be remembered for her homemade sugar cookies, fried chicken and her potato soup. Survivors include her: son Gary Ayres and wife Vicky, Katie, daughter Jan Wright and husband Terry of Davis; 4 brothers: Dub Holt and wife Pat, Wichita Falls, TX; Jim Holt and wife Evelyn of Woodville, TX; Bill Holt of Burleson, TX; and Larry Holt of Keller, TX; 3 sisters: Margie Sampley of Woodville, TX; Jerry Ellison of Justin, TX; and Gennie Stegall and husband Travis of Keller, TX; 4 grandchildren: Amy Ayres; Sharon Rice; Jana Mara; and Jason Wright; 9 great-grandchildren: Kristan Noland; McKenzie Kirsch; Kylie Mara; Hannah Kirsch: Kazi Mara; Landon Cogar; Jaxon Wright; Jameson Wright; and Addison Rice.
