July 2010 Bobby Royce Townsend Oct 26, 1927 ~ Jul 31, 2010 Bobby Royce Townsend, 82 of Mountain Park, Okla., died on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clay Shannon officiating. Interment will follow at Foster Cemetery, Foster, Okla., under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. He was born October 26, 1927 in Seminole, Okla., the son of Ray Miles and Jewel Pearl [West] Townsend. He married Shirley Kay Nolen on April 18, 1986 at Gainesville, Texas. Bobby was retired but had worked as a tool pusher and supervisor in the oilfields. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home, four sons, Byron Townsend and wife Kathy of Troup, Texas, Randy Townsend of Sexton City, Texas, Larry Townsend and Steve Townsend of Kilgore, Texas, a step-daughter, Denise Notgrass of Grapevine, Texas, two step-sons, Robert Drennon and wife Shannon of Justin, Texas and Steven Drennon and wife Margo of San Antonio, Texas, two brothers, Vance Townsend of Georgia and Royce Townsend of Ratliff City, Okla., seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert "Butch" Townsend. Pallbearers will be: Steven Drennon, Robert Drennon, Royce Townsend, Taylor Townsend, Richard Nolen, Gordon Drennon, Sam Miller and Lester Mahorney. |
