September 1976 Darrel Weast July 15, 1945 ~ October 29, 2010 Funeral services for Darrel Weast, 65, Stratford, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Stratford High School auditorium. Rev. Lewis Perry will officiate. Burial will follow Corley Cemetery in Stratford. Mr. Weast died Oct. 29 at a Norman hospital. He was born July 15, 1945 in Leedey to Marvin and Lillie Mearl [Eaton] Weast. He grew up in Stratford where his family owned and operated the Farmer's Exchange and Produce. He graduated from Stratford High School and was on the first basketball team to go to State under the coaching of Jim Freeman in 1963. Mr. Weast was elected Garvin County Commissioner in 1974 and served eight years. He was a member of the Stratford Roundup Club along with his entire family. He was a farmer and rancher and served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Mr. Weast is survived by his wife Annie Weast of the home; one son, Heath Weast, Stratford; one daughter, Darrelynn Weast, Moore; the mother of his children, Glenna Weast, Purcell; one grandson, Chance Weast, Stratford; three granddaughters, Cheyenne Weast, Stratford, Taylor Neal, Norman, and Haley Suess, Stratford; one brother, Forest Weast and wife Patricia, Ada; one sister-in-law, Dovie Weast, Comanche, and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Weast, sister Leora Smith, two nephews, Kevin Weast and Kenny Weast. Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford |
