John A. "Frank" Rogers
December 7, 1891 ~ February 8, 1962


John A. "Frank" Rogers, Stratford, pioneer state resident and retired farmer, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday in a local hospital.

Mr. Rogers was born Dec. 7, 1891 in Waldren, Ark., to Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers. He came to Allen in 1898 and to Stratford in 1907. He had resided in or near Stratford since.

He and Mary Iva Jackson were married Dec. 8, 1912 in Stratford. She died July 23, 1959.

Mr. Rogers was a member of the Church of Christ.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Carmilla Orten, Oklahoma City; three sons, Calvin Rogers, Ada; Bunny C. Rogers, Stonewall, and Dee Rogers, Dumas, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Brown, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Maggie Moody, Stroud; Mrs. Selma Price, Allen, and Mrs. Mattie Jones, California, and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Stratford Church of Christ. Burial will be in Corley Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is directing the services.
