April 2011 Richard Nay "Dick" Jett February i, 1926 ~ April 8, 2011 STRATFORD ~ Services for Richard M. Jett, 85, Stratford, are 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Stratford First Assembly of God Church. Thre Rev. Charles Tennison will officiate. Hw will be assisted by the Revs. Charles Parker and Christopher Kutin. Burial follows at Corlet Cemetery in Stratford. Mr. Jett died April 8, 2011, at home in Stratford. He was born February 1, 1926, in Quail, Texas, to Joseph and Nanny [Richards] Jett. In his young life he lived and was educated in the Asher area. He was married to Wanda J. Little in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 9, 1948. He worked in the oil fields, for many years and raised quarter horses. He and Wanda lived 31 years in New Mexico and California, then moved to Stratford for the past 33 years. He was a member of Stratford First Assembly of God Church, also of the American and Paint Quarter Horse Associations. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and six sisters. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jett,Stratford; a son, Richard T. Jett, Stratford; a daughter, Candace Black and husband Donald, Stratford; a sister, Lena Allen, Tulare, Calif; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a number of neices and nephews. Bearers are Bob Knight, Terry Jones, Paul Olinger, Bruce Standridge, Roy Tyler and Mike Priest. Honorary bearers are Bobby Thomas and Jim Korzan. Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford |
