© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma January 14, 2011 Janie Lightsey Sanders was born on March 8, 1912. She was the oldest of 14 children, born to George & Estella Lightsey. She grew up in the "Big Woods" and attended school in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Janie accepted Christ at an early age. She married Melvin Wright and to this union 1 child Francis was born. Janie's profession was cooking and she would cook for many years at the Moody Hotel, the Steakhouse and various other restaurants around the county. Even though Janie birthed only one child, she was a mother to many. She adopted her nephew Travis and raised him as her own. Janie did not meet a stranger and would always welcome you into her home. Some of Janie's hobbies were quilting, playing dominoes, gardening and she loved fishing. It was never too cold or too hot for her to go to the bank and fish. She would take anyone who wanted to go but they had to be ready when she said let's go. Janie has served her family and her community well and will be missed especially by her fishing buddies. Janie was preceded in death by her parents George & Estella Lightsey; 8 sisters and 2 brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her daughter: Della Francis, of Wichita, Kansas; her son: Travis Lightsey of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Sisters: Anna Owens, of Pauls Valley, Annie Watson, of OKC, and Etta Ruth Watkins, of Pauls Valley; 6 generations grand children and of great & great-great grandchildren as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
