Bobby Joe Hector Sr
November 22, 1946 ~ July 7, 2002


Services for Bobby Joe Hector, Sr., 55, Ardmore, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Sulphur, the Rev. Lonnie Clunn officiating, assisted by Jacqueline Wood. Burial follows at Bells Cemetery, Stratford.

Mr. Hector died July 7, 2002 at Ardmore. He was born November 22, 1946, at Sulphur to Edgar and Buelha Gaddis Hector.

He married Zelma Gorrell August 3, 1965, at Sulphur. He was a minister and member of West Gate Christian Center. He grew up at San Jose, California. He attended the Overfelt School. He moved back to Sulphur in 1964. He had been pastor of West Gate Christian Center for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, Zelman, of the home; three daughters, Paula Elaine VanBuskirk, Ada, Catherine Ann Clary, Sulphur, and Kimberly Amanda-Dian Hockersmith, Marietta; a son, Bobby Joe Hector Jr., Lawton; his motherBuelha Hector, Pauls Valley; two sisters, Darlene Hollowell, Ravia and Sharon Lynn, Pauls Valley; two brothers, Neil Hector, Noble, and Willard Hector, Stratford; and six grandchildren.

Bearers are Alvin Hill, Stephen Hollowell, Billy Wood, Dakota Hector, George Gill and Larry Hector.

Honorary bearers are Glen Leming, Gus Caudle, Gary Smith, Louie Rose and Randy Sylvester.

Clagg Funeral Home, Sulphur, is in charge of arrangements.
