© Wilson-Little Funeral Home Newcastle, Oklahoma June 13, 2014 July 7, 1938 ~ June 13, 2014 Eula Lavon Wimberly age 75 of Purcell, formerly of Elmore City, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Lavon was born July 7, 1938 in Antioch, OK, the oldest of six children. Her parents were Bill Blackwood Sr and Zettie Fay [Fuller] Blackwood. Lavon grew up in Elmore City and graduated from Elmore High School in 1956 Some years later she married Carl Wimberly and for many years they made their home in Del City. Lavon worked most of her life as a sales representative in the Pharmaceutical industry, retiring from McKesson Pharmaceuticals. Throughout her life, she and Carl enjoyed horse racing and at one time even owned a race horse. She also enjoyed going to and trying her luck at the local casino. Before she retired, she moved to Blanchard and lived there five years before moving to a retirement home in Purcell in 2009. For the past four years she has lived at the Purcell Care Center in Purcell. As a young girl she was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Elmore City. She loved being outdoors throughout her life, she also enjoyed fishing and gardening. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by: Parents, Bill and Zettie Blackwood; Husband, Carl Wimberly in 1996; Sister, Mildred Blackwood; She is survived by: Two sisters, Roszetta McGregor and husband Riley of Washington, OK, Linda Harris and husband Wayne of Elmore City, OK, Two brothers, Bill Blackwood Jr. and wife Glenda of Washington, Jimmy Blackwood and wife Cathy of Greenwood, AR, Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, June, 16, 2014 at Antioch Cemetery in Antioch, OK. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. |
