© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 27, 1954 ~ October 23. 2021 James Ray Walker, of Pauls Valley, passed away October 23, 2021 near Checotah, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years. He was born April 27, 1954 in Houston, Texas to James Howell Walker and Lena Faye [Slawson] Walker. He was married to Sandy Lou Pettigrew at the Walker School, in the Walker Community near Pauls Valley on July 27, 2002. He was raised in Texas but has lived in Oklahoma most of his life and has made Pauls Valley his home for the past 7 years. He worked as a Service Manager in Heating and Cooling. James enjoyed so many things throughout his life. He loved carpentry, wood working, cooking, shopping, and taking care of his family. James was preceded in death by his parents James Howell and Lena Faye Walker; his wife, Sandy Lou Walker; and two brothers, Michael Walker and Marvin Walker. His surviving family include his three children, Jason Walker and wife, Tracey; Rebecca V. Smith and husband, Mitchell; and Joshua Walker; three step-children, Jody Doughty, Randy Doughty and wife, Vanessa, and Amber Davis and husband, Chris; one sister Janet White; ten grandchildren, Reanna Walker, Matthew Walker, Ashlyn Foreman, Garrett Foreman, Jody Don Doughty, Sara Doughty, Caylee McCracken, Bryson McCracken, Shyanna Doughty, and Chance Doughty; three great grandchildren, Emma Russell, Tinley Herriman, and Oakley Doughty. Funeral services will be held at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Sandy Lou Pettigrew was born December 27, 1958 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Violet [Dehart] Pettigrew and Marvin Eugene 'Gene' Pettigrew. She was married to James R. Walker at the Walker School in the Walker Community on July 27, 2002. She was a Private Caregiver and attended the United Pentecostal Church in Wynnewood. The Pauls Valley area has been her home most of her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Eugene Pettigrew; daughter-in-law, Maranda Leigh Doughty; nephew, Brandon Pettigrew; grandparents, J. T. and Estelle Dehart. Her surviving family include her husband, James R. Walker of the home; children, Jody Doughty of Pauls Valley; Randy Doughty and wife, Vanessa, of Stratford; and Amber McCracken and Fiancé, Chris Davis, of Pauls Valley; Jason Walker and wife, Tracy, of Oklahoma City; Rebecca Smith and husband, Mitchell, and Joshua Walker, all of Checotah; her mother, Violet Pettigrew of Pauls Valley; sister, Peggy McCarty and husband, Don, of Wynnewood; sister-in-law, Janet White and husband, Waymon, of Lawton; brother, Bobby Pettigrew and wife, Virginia, of Davis; and brother-in-law, Marvin Walker of Pauls Valley; 10 grandchildren. Funeral services: Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
