Lawton, Oklahoma May 30, 1955 April 7, 1916 May 30, 1955 The Oklahom Highway Patrol reported 13 accidents have occurred in the seven-county district dueing the long Memoril Day weekend. Three of these, including the fatality wreck, were listed as personal injury crashes. Swindell, an oil field salesman who had worked for many firms in this region, was born in Antioch,. He came to Lawton in 1928 from Comanche and was active in oil field work, including a stint in Saudi Arabia. He was a veteran of World War II.
