© Ferguson Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma December 2020 October 16, 1942 ~ December 13, 2020 Funeral services for Russell Clinton Owen, 78, of Chickasha, will be held at Antioch Cemetery near Maysville, Oklahoma. Russell Clinton Owen was born October 16, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the son of Clinton Harrison Owen and Alvia Alice [Allen] Owen. He passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Chickasha, Oklahoma Russell grew up in Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1961. He then attended Cameron Junior College studying animal husbandry. On June 1, 1963, Russell married Georgiann Davis in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They were married 47 years until her death in 2010. Russell and Georgiann lived in Maysville, Purcell and Oklahoma City, settling in Chickasha in 1964, where he worked for 20 years for Pool Mortgage Company. He then worked for Cement Bank for five years and then owned his own insurance agency for five years. He worked for Charles Allen Ford for 21 years, never officially retiring. As a young man, Russell enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a retired Grady County Volunteer Firefighter with the Pioneer Company for 20 years, 15 of those were as Chief. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Georgiann; his daughter, Cynthia Owen-Beaver; sister and brother-in-law, Maggie and Jesse Staley; and brother-in-law, Bill Idleman. Survivors include his sisters, Clara Idleman of Lonegrove and Frankie Nielsen of Oakland, California; brother, Harrison Oscar Owen and wife, Jan, of Pauls Valley; several nieces and nephews; his Charles Allen Ford family; and other extended family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, August 17, 2010 July 15, 1944 ~ August 17, 2010 Funeral services for Georgiann "Jan" Davis Owen, 66, of Chickasha, will be at 1 p.m.. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Georgiann "Jan" Davis Owen was born July 15, 1944, in Antioch, Okla., the daughter of George Davis and Joan Helen Glaser Davis. She died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, in Chickasha. Jan grew up in Maysville, Oklahoma and graduated form Maysville High School. Jan married Russell C. Owen on June 1, 1963, in Pauls Valley, Okla., and moved to the Chickasha area, where they have made their home since. Jan was employed by Pool Mortgage Company until she and Russell were blessed with their daughter Cynthia. After being a full time mother for several years, Jan returned to work outside the home in 1978, as the school secretary at Pioneer School. She enjoyed working with children at the school and remained there until her retirement in 1993. Jan had a passion for travel. She was especially fond of memories of a trip to Europe and a very special family vacation to Jamaica with Russell and Cynthia and the Harris family. She also enjoyed bird watching around her home. Jan was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed caring for her family and their home. She was preceded in death by both her parents. Jan is survived by her loving husband, Russell, of the home; her daughter, Cynthia and her boyfriend, Kris Beaver, of Oklahoma City; three sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Harris, of Pauls Valley, Okla., Dorothy Jones, of Whitesboro, Texas, Sharon Judd, of Meeker, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Beverly Davis, of Maysville, Okla., Larry and Joyce Davis, of Wayne, Okla.; sister-in-law, Clara Idleman, of Lone Grove, Okla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harris and Jan Owen, of Pauls Valley, Okla., sister-in-law, Frankie Nielsen, of Wiesbaden, Germany; aunt and uncle, Norma and Harold Luis, of Shawnee, Okla., aunt, Beverly Allen, of Chickasha, Okla., uncle, Jimmy Paul and Freda Davis, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a host of friends. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Antioch, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
