Chickasha, Oklahoma March 2021 May 29, 1947 ~ March 10, 2021 Jean [Scott[ McCaleb was born on May 29, 1947, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Carter Elmo Scott and Dorothy Evelyn [Campbell] Scott. She passed from this life at her home on March 10, 2021, at the age of 73. Jean spent much of her life in the Houston, Texas area but had recently moved back to Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jean married the love of her life, Thomas McCaleb, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on January 15, 1965. They celebrated 41 years of marriage and raised three children together until Thomas preceded her in death on March 7, 2006. Jean spent many years as a beautician. She then attended real estate school and became a licensed real estate agent. Jean was a huge sports fan. She loved playing tennis and golf and watching women’s basketball and Nascar. Jean also spent several years coaching girls’ softball. When she wasn’t enjoying sports, Jean found fulfillment in gardening. She also loved playing the slots, and would spend hours pulling the slot machine handles looking for that big win. Left to cherish Jean’s memory are her son Scott McCaleb and wife Rachelle of Medford, Oklahoma; daughter Shanna McCaleb of Maysville, Oklahoma; daughter Sharlotte McCaleb of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brother Carter Scott and wife Beth of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother Patrick Scott of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister Jeri Knowles and husband Tim of Chickasha, Oklahoma; grandchildren Kaitlyn McCaleb, Bradley McCaleb, and Mandi Green; and great grandchildren Raelynn Green, Leilana Green, Onyx Green, Judge Green, and Harlynn McCaleb. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Carter and Dorothy Scott, and her beloved husband, Thomas McCaleb.
