Purcell, Oklahoma December 2020 May 2, 1929 ~ December 3, 2020 Hilda L. Cannon of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Samuel Brooks and Callie Josephine [Ellis] Guthrie on May 2, 1929 in the Parks Community, Garvin County and passed from this life on December 3, 2020 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. Hilda spent her childhood in the Parks Community and graduated from Elmore City High School where she was an outstanding basketball player. She married Hollis E. Cannon on July 5, 1951 at the Pauls Valley courthouse. She spent her life faithfully raising her children. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, and decorating. The highlights of her life were her family, including her nieces and nephews who were very important to her. The most important thing Hilda taught others was to love your family. She would have liked for her life to have demonstrated to always stay together as a family, take care of each other, and know and love the Lord. She was very proud of the persons in her family involved in the ministry. Mrs. Cannon is survived by: Daughters: Netti Cannon Jones, Kathy Cannon Janz, Sister: Glennita Holman, 3 grandchildren: Holli Cornelius, Kristi Miller and Katrina Walker, 6 great-grandchildren: Isaac Miller, Miriam Miller, Nattilee Clagg, Hunter Cornelius, Lauran White, Hallee Lahoma Cornelius, 3 ½ great-great-grandchildren: Adalynn Clagg, Noa White, and Ryder Miller and Baby Boy White.
