March 16, 1993 October 15, 1923 ~ March 16, 1993 Raymond Alford Young was born in Mt. View, Oklahoma on October 15, 1923. He only finished the 7th grade of school and worked in the oil fields and as a truck driver until his retirement. Raymond died of cancer on March 16, 1993 at their home in Stratford. Grave side services were held for him at the Abney Cemetery. He is the husband of Minerva Sizemore Young, daughter of Zetta Sizemore, who is the daughter of J.W. and Maud May Abney. |
Thursday, November 17, 2005 January 22, 1934 ~ November 11, 2005 Funeral service for Minerva Elizabeth Young were held Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the Stratford Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Perry officiating. Burial followed at Abney Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were Rick Griffin, Walt Lamb, Tim Blackburn , John Wood, Jay Wood, ands Howard Briggs. Minerva Elizabeth Young, a resident of Stratford, was born January 22, 1934 in Coleman, Oklahoma to Zetta [Abney] and James Sizemore. She passed away November 11, 2005 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years. She was married to Raymond A. Young at Gainesville, Texas on September 17, 1965. Mrs. Young was a retired Nurses Aide and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lois; her husband, Raymond; and two grandsons, Patrick and James. |
