March 7, 2011 Kenneth Gene Rambo, of Paoli, Oklahoma, was born October 10, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jess and Vera Smith] Rambo. He passed away March 7, 2011 at his home in Paoli, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years. He was married to Dorothy Jean [Skaggs] in Stratford, Oklahoma on May 17, 1968. He worked for Uniroyal Tire Company and he served our country in the U.S. Army. He lived in the Garvin County area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jeanb, on August 31, 1997. Survivors include: one son, David Rambo and wife Natasha of Paoli; one daughter, Kendelyn Collins and husband William of Stratford; one brother, Johnny Rambo of Pickett, Oklahoma; one sister. Sherry Franks of Center, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Kennedi Faith, Dylan and Brandon. Pallbearers will be David Rambo, Donnie Anderson, James Richardson, Jeff Taylor, Dib Dixcon, and Gary Craig. Services will be held Thursday March 120, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Stratford, Oklahoma officiated by Rev. John Allen. Burial follow in Abney Cemetery southwest of Stratford under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford. |
August 31, 1997 Dorothy Jean [Skaggs] Rambo was born March 4, 1944 in Stratford, Oklahoma. She married Kenneth Rambo and was a school teacher in the Wynnewood Schools before her retirement. She was killed in a traffic accident on August 31, 1997. Her daughter had a premature child at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City and after driving back from that hospital, she dropped her mother off at Stratford and was en route home when she apparently went to sleep on Highway 29 east of Wynnewood. She ran off the road and hit a tree. She died at the scene. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Officer was behind her and observed the accident. Her services were held at the First Baptist Church in Stratford, with Mike Muse and Pastor Marvin Knox officiating. |
