Funeral service for Wilbur L. Taylor will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangement. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. today at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born to Volney and Louise Polwart Taylor on the centennial family farm in Fairmont, Okla., on Sept. 6, 1925. He passed away to his heavenly home on Friday, March 15, 2013.
Wilbur was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Okla, where he sang in the choir and held a number of offices during his membership, which spanned some 80 years. Wilbur sang in a quartet on numerous occasions. On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Imogene Nobis at Zion Lutheran Church. This past August, they celebrated 63 years together. Wilbur worked and retired from the Garfield County District 1 bridge crew after 30 years. However, his love was farming, where he raised wheat, cattle, pigs and three daughters.
He also was an avid softball player. In his youth, he played on the Fairmont Softball team. He passed that love on to his daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene of Fairmont; daughters, Annette Mason (Kirk) of Ringwood, Nancy Nelson (David) of Carrier, and Lorraine Brainard of Enid; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

Funeral service for Imogene Ruth (Grammie) Taylor, 90, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with the Rev. Mark Blakeman and the Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial follows in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Ladusau Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Imogene was born December 3, 1927, in Fairmont, to John and Bertha Nobis. She went to her heavenly home August 4, 2018.
Imogene was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and the choir and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Pioneer Wheathearts Extension Club.
Imogene graduated from Garber High School and attended St. Johns College in Winfield, KS, for two years, receiving her associate's degree.
Imogene married Wilbur Lee Taylor on August 14, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church. They lived on a farm south of Fairmont for 63 years where they raised wheat, pigs, her flowers, and three daughters.
She went to work as a bookkeeper at the Farmers Co-Op in Fairmont in 1978, and retired in 1990. This is when her favorite job began! Her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren's activities where she became known as Grammie to everyone she met along the way.
Her gentle and fun-loving spirit was known by many. She was even able to attend her great-grandchildrens' activities until she became less mobile and then she became an avid Thunder basketball fan.
Grammie is survived by her three daughters, Annie and Kirk Mason of Ames, Nancy and David Nelson of Carrier, and Lorraine Brainard and Kelly Bittle of Fairmont.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julie and Kevin McMahon, Sarah and Brian Jantzen, Katie and Jesse McCants, Greg and Heather Hargis, Jacie and Matt LeCrone, Taylor and Darci Brainard, Walker Brainard, Andy Nelson, and Brady Nelson; and 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur and her parents.
