FAIRMONT — Funeral service for Ralph F. Frickenschmidt, 96, of Fairmont, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, with Pastor Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Services under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Ralph was born on March 12, 1914, in Fairmont to Fred and Minnie (Meyer) Frickenschmidt and died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, in Enid.
He grew up and attended school in the Fairmont community. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign from 1942 to 1944. Following his discharge, he returned home to the farm.
Ralph married Leona Sattelmeier Geihsler in Breckinridge on Aug.17, 1952, and they made their home on the family farm near Fairmont. Ralph was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, his entire life.
He is survived by his children, Royce Geihsler and his wife Mary of Douglas, Alan Frickenschmidt and his wife Paula of Breckinridge, and Linda Woodruff of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Tim Frickenschmidt and his wife Patricia of Fairmont, Lori Speaker and her husband Tim of Enid, Stacey Silvers and her husband Justin of Fairmont, and Jeremy Woodruff of California; six great-grandchildren, Paige, Alivia, Tyler, Allison, Chance and Ty; a sister, Mildred Schneider of Douglas; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Leona in 2005; sister, Laverna Murphy in 1970; an infant brother; and a grandson, Jerome Woodruff in 1985.
