Jerome H. Eggers
Mr. Jerome H. Eggers was born on August 22, 1873, at Jefferson City, Mo., and departed this life on January 22, 1934, aged 60 years and 5 months. He spent the early years of his life in Missouri, coming to Garfield county in 1901, living here until 1907 when he moved to Beaver county, where he lived for seven years, returning to Fairmont in 1914 and spending the remainder of his years here.
He was confirmed in the German Lutheran faith at the age of 14.
He was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Fisher, February 16, 1897, and she with three children, Mrs. Await Leseberg of Fairmont, Miss Florence Eggers of California and Mr. William Eggers, who is with the Marines in Hawaii, are left to mourn his death. He is also survived by two grandchildren, his aged mother, Mrs. Rosalie Eggers of Fairmont, a sister, Mrs. Rosalie Carson of California and three brothers, Sebastian, Chris and Theodore Eggers, all of Fairmont.
Mr. Egger's passing was a distinct shock to everyone. He was enjoying his usual good health Monday morning and had gone out to milk when stricken with a hemorrhage which caused his death in a few minutes.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church at Fairmont and the remains interred in Zion cemetery.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Miss Florence Eggers, Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. M.E. Carson and daughter, Madelene, San Gabriel, Calif.; Mrs. Lucy Eggers, Mrs. Ray Crump and sons, Ralph and Marvin of Russellville, Mo.; Mr. J.B Ott, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ott, and Mrs. John Pierce and daughter Gloria, all of Wichita, Kans.; Mr. Christ Fischer of Shattuck, Okla.; and Mrs. Elizabeth Vick and Miss Mathilda Fischer, of Jefferson City, Mo.

The personal property of Jerome Eggers was sold at public auction at Fairmont on Wednesday. Things sold well and a large crowd attended.
