Robert L. Jack

The funeral for Robert L. Jack, 95-year-old Enid resident is 2:00PM Monday, October 21, 2024, in Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Blakeman will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation with family is 5PM-7PM Sunday evening in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.
Robert was born March 12, 1929, in Enid to Jessie and Stella (Loesch) Jack and died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in St. Mary's Hospital. He graduated from Waukomis High School with the class of 1947. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the destroyer USS Richard E. Kraus, patrolling the eastern seaboard. After his service he lived with his aunt and uncle in San Diego, CA. where he worked in the aviation industry.
He returned home and on Valentine's Day 1959 he married his sweetheart, Juanita Froemming. The couple made their home in Enid. Robert was an accomplished welder and worked with Cummins Construction for 32 years. He was a member and former Elder at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
Robert enjoyed racing his 57 Chevy in speedways across the country. He was also a great mechanic and liked working on his friends' cars and helping his friend's farm in Fairmont. Mostly, he was a devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughters; Lorie Legere and husband Jack of Enid and Nancy Long and husband Gene also of Enid. Grandchildren; Caleb Ellington of Enid, Sarah Wyssmann-Johnson and husband Tim of Enid, Step-grandchildren Andre Legere, April Legere, and Stephanie Criner, 8 Long Step-grandchildren; Harley Long, Melia Corrales, Adina Welch, Johnny Long, Joe Long, Ben Long, Jessie Long, Emily Woodfall, and numerous step-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Dixie Froemming.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Juanita, one brother Wayne and an infant son.
