BOY DIES FROM CANCER
Ernest Walter, aged 7 years, 2 months, and 17 days, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kaspar Thain, died Sunday morning from the unusual affliction, in one so young, of cancer of the bowels. He had been ill for about five weeks, during the first three of which he suffered terribly. Suffering was not so intense during the last two weeks of his illness, however.
When he first complained of feeling badly, he was taken to Enid for an examination at the General Hospital. From the first, the doctors said there was no hope for him and said that an operation was useless. The case was the second one of the kind ever at this hospital.
The father and mother and seven other children besides other relatives survive him.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church here Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. Ph. Roesel delivered the funeral sermon. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
A large crowd attended the funeral services.
