Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at the White Cemetery of Hunter, Okla., with the Rev. Marvin Reynolds officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home of Pond Creek, Okla.
Roy Lee Wilson was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Hunter, Okla., to Bert and Lydia Lounsbury Wilson and died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at the age of 91. Roy attended Hunter Public Schools, where he was one of the top basketball players. Then he worked as a lumberman in Hunter. From there, he went to help build Camp Gruber, which was used by the U.S. military.
He was custodian of the Hunter Public Schools and drove the school bus for 12 years. Roy was a top farmer in the Hunter area and retired from farming, turning over his farm work to his son, Don Wilson and grandson, Tyler Wilson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, Russell, Lawrence and Tom Wilson, his two sisters, Roberta Smart and Corrine Dayton, his wife, Leah Wilson, and his son-in law, Allen Moslander.
Roy is survived by one sister, Doris Beltz of Stroud; his three children, Linda Reynolds, and husband Marvin of Oklahoma City, Don Wilson and wife Johnece of Hunter, Okla., and Sandra Moslander of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Hunter Fire Department. Memorials may be sent to the Wilson Funeral Home, Box 478, Pond Creek, OK 73766.
