Hunter – Services for Claude E. Moore, 76, who died Tuesday in his home in Hunter, will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday in the Hunter Christian Church with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be in the White Cemetery outside Hunter under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Garber.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10 AM until service time.
Born near Mount Hope, Kansas, Moore came to Oklahoma with his parents at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, settling on a claim Northwest of Hunter. In May, 1913, he was married to Mae Wilson and they made their home in the Hunter area. Moore retired from farming in 1954 and moved into Hunter.
Survivors other than the widow include one daughter, Mrs. C. L. (Loren) Tims, Hunter; four sons, Clifford and Glenn both of Garber, Dale, Pond Creek, Lester, Blackwell; three brothers, Terry, Burt, Floyd all of Hunter; 13 grandchildren and nine great – grandchildren.
