Funeral services for Joyce Helen Moore, 85 of Blackwell, will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church with Pastor officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in the White Cemetery, Hunter, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.
Joyce was born on August 2, 1931 in Hulbert, Oklahoma, the daughter of Louis T. and Esther Icestone Johnson, and passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017 at her residence. Joyce was raised on the family farm and educated in Kremlin, Oklahoma, and graduated from Kremlin High School. Joyce played basketball and softball at Kremlin. Later, she moved to Blackwell to the family farm where she helped her father with farming and helping raise her siblings. She married Lester L. Moore in Enid on December 23, 1950. He passed away on February 9, 1996. They moved to Blackwell where they managed the Braman COOP. She worked for Blackwell Floral for many years, and then worked Cole Floral for several years, then worked for Sunshine Floral until retirement. Joyce was affiliated with the First Christian Church and worked in the nursery and kitchen. She enjoyed her family, camping, fishing, gardening, raising chickens and dogs. She was a great cook and could cook anything especially her great talent for making bread. Joyce enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in passing by her husband, Lester L. Moore, son Royce Moore, mother and father, brothers, Bill, Floren, Bobby, Joe, and David; sisters, Janie Ropp, Mary Litschke, and grandson, Brandon Lee Lively.
Survivors include, Daughter, Candy Lively and husband Bob of Blackwell; son, Monte Moore and wife Shelly of Harbor City, California; sister, Dorothy Walta of Caldwell, Kansas; brothers, Ted Johnson of Blackwell; grandchildren, Destiny Lively of Blackwell, Mytchell Moore, Dawson Moore, and Shaylyn Moore, all of Harbor City, California; one great-grandchild, Sophia Mann of Blackwell.
