Pond Creek – Services for Carl (Pete) Gritz, 72, who died Sunday in a Blackwell hospital, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Robert Schreiner will officiate and burial will be in the White Cemetery at Hunter.
Gritz was born at Hennessey May 22, 1914, to Lloyd and Mary Gritz. He was a veteran of World War I I and came to Pond Creek after the war ended. He was in the Postal Service for some 30 years and retired as Pond Creek postmaster in 1977.
Gritz was a member of the Pond Creek Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, in 1972.
Gritz and Maxine Ingham were married December 5, 1979, at Kingfisher.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine, a son, Carl Gritz of Harrah; two brothers, George Gritz, Lowland, North Carolina, and Donald Gritz, Red Bluff, California, and a sister, Werthena Baumgartner, Blackwell.
Memorials may be made to the Pond Creek ambulance fund through the funeral home.
