Although Lena had been suffering from lung trouble about a year, she was not thought to be in imminent danger and her sudden death was a shock to all. She was a noble child, and everyone coming in contact with her felt the influence of her strong character and loving personality. Her bright, happy disposition, her keen sense of justice, and her magnanimous consideration for the feelings of others, drew around her a warm circle of associates, her brave shouldering of home duties and the responsibilities of life, make her loss the more keenly felt. The funeral services were conducted from the home of her father, Frank Buss, Tuesday morning by Rev O. P. Burris, pastor of the Hunter Christian church, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery north of Hunter. She leaves a father and mother, two sisters and three brothers to yearn for the vanished presence; to weep for the vacant chair. |
