Funeral for Harold Glen Wilkes, 82, of Waukomis, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Kurtis Stoll officiating. Burial will follow at Waukomis Cemetery. Visitation with family is 1:30-3 p.m. today, July 12, at the funeral home.
Harold was born to Joe and Maidee (Bowman) Wilkes on July 25, 1932, in Fort Cobb, and passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at his home in Waukomis.
Harold served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, until his retirement.
He attended two years at Okmulgee Tech.
On May 18, 1964, he married Dorothy in Wellington, Kan.
Harold worked at Vance AFB in flight safety.
After Dorothy’s death, Harold married Betty Artherholt, and they made their home in Waukomis. He loved fishing, and was very mechanically inclined. He was a “Mr. Fix-it.”
Harold enjoyed building a playhouse for the grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; daughter, Glenda and Jackie Hisey of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Stacia Bittner of Midwest City, and Chase Bittner of Enid; one great-grandchild; sister, Shirley Klusmeyer of Mustang; stepchildren, Toni and Steve Kroll of Billings, Kristy and Lane McGeehee of Garber, Cherie and Daniel Spangler of Covington; five stepdaughters from a previous marriage; and 18 stepgrandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Dorothy.
Memorials may be made to OMRF, cancer division.
