Services for James Valtr, 50, Douglas, will be 2 PM Tuesday at the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church. The Rev. Coy L. Donakey will conduct the rites. Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery. Henninger – Allen is in charge of arrangements.
Valter died Friday, February 17, 1978, in a local hospital.
Born near Bison, he attended and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1945. He joined the U. S. Army a year later and in 1956 enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. He retired from the service in 1974 and moved to Douglas where he was employed by Garfield County.
He married the former Glenys Frye, February 22, 1974. A member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church, he was also active in the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Glenys, one son, Roger, and one daughter, Loraine, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Edna Valtr, Douglas; three sisters, Mrs. Geneva Burland, and Mrs. Don (Vada) Wiggins; both of Enid, and Mrs. Norma Parton, Dover, Delaware; two brothers, David, Bison, and Jerry, Douglas.
Contributions may be made through the Henninger – Allen funeral home to a memorial fund established at the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church.
Henninger – Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
