The graveside service for Jimmy Eli Painter, 74, of Okarche, will be 11 a.m. today, Jan. 7, 2009, in Waukomis Cemetery . The Rev. James Inman will officiate. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.
He was born Dec. 30, 1934, to Jess and Sarah Dillmon Painter and died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital.
He was raised in Enid, graduating from Enid High School and began work in the oil field.
He married Frances Hillery Jan. 26, 1952. He later married Faye Mitchell Hallum Aug. 5, 1977.
He continued working in the oil fields for George E. Failing Co., served as Deputy Sheriff for Garfield County, and worked for and retired from Ranger Trucking. He also coached little league baseball in his early years.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Robinson of Enid, Sarilyn Sanders of Gladewater, Texas, and Kathleen Carr of Tuskahoma; two sons, Jim Painter of Enid and David Hallum of Mustang; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, and two grandchildren
