The funeral for Sharon Louise Miller, 65, will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at Temple Baptist Church. Pastor Kevin Strope will officiate. Interment will follow in Waukomis Cemetery . Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Sharon Louise Miller was born Aug. 31, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, to Royce Wayne and Esther Elizabeth (Blocker) Auman. She passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Enid, Okla., after a long illness.
She attended Burges High School and graduated in 1961. She married Dale D. Miller May 11, 1962, in El Paso, Texas. They later moved to Kenner, La., and eventually to Enid in 1977.
Sharon had several different occupations through the years. Two of her favorites were working with special needs children and banking. She began a class for special needs children at her church and championed their cause to her congressional representative. She began her banking career at Northwest Bank of Enid and worked there for almost two decades.
She was very involved in her church. She attended Temple Baptist Church in Enid. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher for over 45 years. She was an active member of the choir and sang special music often. She worked in all areas of children's ministry including Christmas programs and Vacation Bible School. She loved her church and serving her Lord Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Nancy Hines and Pam Adams.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Mike and Kim Miller of Tulsa, Okla., Toni Miller of Waukomis , Okla., and Kelli Osburn of Enid, Okla.; grandchildren, Megan, Madison and Kenzie Miller, Becca, Cory, Nick and Dakota Osburn; one great-grandchild, Lexis Osburn; and one sister, Judy Winn of Long Beach, Calif.
Memorials may be made through Ladusau-Evans to Youth and Family Services Therapeutic Foster Care or Oklahoma Medical Research Fund, ovarian cancer division.
The casket will be open for viewing at the funeral home until 11 a.m. Monday and will not be open at the church.
