Mrs. Emma A. McVicker, 95, Waukomis, died early Saturday in and Enid hospital after a short illness. Her funeral will be at 3 PM Monday in the Waukomis United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael C. Howerton officiating.
She will be buried in the Waukomis Cemetery with the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McVicker was born February 1, 1880, near St. Joseph, Missouri, and came to Oklahoma during early statehood. She grew up east of Hennessy and was married to Col. Miles McVicker on September 13, 1895. They moved to Waukomis in 1908 where he was in the auctioneer business. He died in 1925.
Mrs. McVicker was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Waukomis Community Club and a 50 – year member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
Two sons, a daughter, four brothers and four sisters died before she did. A grandson, Dewayne Atherton of Enid survives. She is also survived by nine great – grandchildren; five great – great – grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Young and Mrs. Mary Pratt, both of Hennessy.
