Waukomis Cemetery


Funeral service for Mrs. James P. McDevitt, 59, Waukomis, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Waukomis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike C. Howerton officiating.

She will be buried in the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. McDevitt died early Saturday in a local hospital of an apparent heart attack. She was born in Enid and attended schools here, then graduated from night school at Waukomis.

The former Rosella O. Fishinger, she and James P. McDevitt were married April 17, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They established a home in Los Angeles, California, then moved to Enid and to Waukomis in 1952.

A son and her parents predeceased her. She is survived by her husband James of the home; two sons, Arthur of Anaheim, California, and George of Edmond; three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Thelma) Prater, Susanville, California, Mrs. Dwight (Martha) Phillips and Mrs. Terry (Penney) Kelley, Enid; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Erma) Ouellett, Enid and Mrs. Richard (Shelle) Null, Oklahoma City.
