Waukomis Cemetery


The funeral for Edna Landwehr, 98, Waukomis, will be 2 p.m., Sunday., May 1, 2016, at Waukomis United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kimberly Giles officiating. Burial will follow at Waukomis Cemetery, under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. There will be visitation with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Edna was born at Garber on January 27, 1918, to Truman and Olga Johnston, and died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at her home.

She graduated from Duncan High School and attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City.

Edna married Marvin Landwehr on April 15, 1939. She was a homemaker and worked as the bookkeeper with her husband in the business of Landwehr Motor at Waukomis. He died March 7, 1977.

She was a member of Waukomis Methodist Church, Waukomis Eastern Star #137, the Jr. Farmerette Club, and served as secretary for Wheathearts for many years.

Edna loved to polka dance, knit, do crossword puzzles, travel and play Chicken Foot. She deeply loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Williams and husband, Larry, Waukomis; three sons, Truman Landwehr and wife, Sandy, Enid; Stuart Landwehr and wife Debbie; and Roy Landwehr and wife, Vicki, all of Waukomis, 6 grandchildren and their spouses, one step-granddaughter, and 14 great- Grandchildren, 3 Step-Great Grandchildren; one sister Irene Gabriel of Hennessey. Edna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Landwehr, and one step-grandson.

A very special thank you to Mary Ann, Lisa, Janice and Pat for taking such good care of Edna so that she could be at home. Edna thought the world of all of them.

Memorial contributions may be made to Waukomis Methodist Church or the Waukomis Cemetery with Browns-Cummings Funeral Home as custodians of the funds.
