David was born April 27, 1940, in Waukomis, OK, to Harry and Alice (Wirth) Landwehr. He passed from this life on May 17, 2024.

David graduated from Waukomis High School in 1958. He was employed at Landwehr Food Market in Waukomis from 1958 to 1963, when he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1965, he returned to Landwehr Food Market, becoming the owner following his father's death in 1967. David operated the grocery store until 1979, and then worked as a meat cutter at Bloom's Meat Market until he retired in 2005.

On August 8, 1969, David married Betty Lollman in Enid, OK, and they made their home in Waukomis, OK. Their daughter Laurie Rosanne was born on November 28, 1973.

Always an enthusiastic singer, David was a member of the Barbershoppers Chorus as well as The Belvederes Quartet. He sang in the Waukomis Christian Church and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church choirs.

He was also a member of the Enid Model Railroaders Club. One of his favorite vacation activities was riding the narrow gauge railroad train from Silverton to Ouray in the Colorado mountains.

On June 14, 2015, David was honored with the title Elder Emeritus of the Waukomis Christian Church in recognition of his devotion and leadership.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, and daughter Laurie.

Memorials may be made to Waukomis Christian Church, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
