Paul Frederick Kreie, 88, a longtime resident of Waukomis, died Sunday at Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was born near Brownton, Minnesota, May 27, 1884, to William and Louise Kreie. He came to Waukomis in 1905 and joined the Methodist Church and had continued his membership for more than 67 years. He was a charter member of the Waukomis Lions Club, was active in community affairs, and served for many years as City Clerk.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Thursday in the United Methodist Church of Waukomis with Rev. Dr. Lester A. Meyer and Rev. Richard F. Mauldin officiating. Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery with Fossett Funeral Home in charge.
The body will lie in state in the Chapel of Fossett Funeral Home from Wednesday morning until noon Thursday, and from 1 PM until service time, in the sanctuary of the Waukomis United Methodist Church. The casket will not be opened following the service. A Memorial has been established in his memory at the United Methodist Church of Waukomis.
Kreie is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Conrad (Wanda) Wiggs, Scottsdale, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Paul F. (Frances Florence) Kreie, 88, died Saturday in a Mesa, Arizona hospital. Her service will be Thursday at 2 PM in the United Methodist Church in Waukomis with Dr. Lester Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Fossett Funeral Home, Enid.
Mrs. Kreie was born in Cook, Nebraska, December 30, 1889, to John and Florence Young. She moved with her parents near Waukomis when she was three years of age. In 1903, she joined the Waukomis Methodist Church, and taught the Adult Sunday School class for more than 25 years. When the Women's Society of Christian Service was organized, she was elected the first president.
The former Frances Florence Young, she married Paul F. Kreie January 5, 1910, and they had lived together 63 years. She was a member of the Waukomis Study Club.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Zella Heckart, Mutual; one daughter, Wanda Wiggs, Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren; two great – grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in January 1973 and one daughter.
