Funeral services for Marcella Jones, 85, will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery, Waukomis. The casket will be open until the time of service.
Marcella was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Waukomis, OK to Joe Hromas and Anna Pospical and died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital.
She graduated from Waukomis High school and attended Phillips University.
Marcella married D.W. Jr. Jim Jones Sept. 28, 1946. They have been married 60 years.
She worked at Pillsbury Mills, then at Groendyke’s for 17 years until retirement. She then was associated with her husband at the Sage Room Restaurant.
She loved gardening, watching birds and wildlife, and her pets. She was well known for her family heritage’s culinary art.
She is survived by her husband, D.W. “Jim” Jones Jr. of the home; a sister, Evelyn Hampton of Enid; brother and sister-in-law, W.D. and Carolyn Jones of Tulsa; two nephews, Joe Neal Hampton and wife Joan of Waukomis, OK and Hal Brent Hampton and his wife Carol of Dallas, TX; and one niece, Claudia Kinman and her husband Dan of Houston, TX; one great nephew, Jason Hampton and his wife Amanda of Waukomis; one great-niece, Jennie Brinkley and her husband Micheal of Enid; and one great-nephew, Cooper Brinkley; and two great-nieces, Hannah and Jessica Hampton.
Memorials may be made to the SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
