A graveside service with full military rites conducted by the Army for John Robert Paul Jones, 85, will be 2 p.m. today in Waukomis Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Whitley will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Enid to Silas and Sarah Jones and died Monday, April 16, 2007, in Kansas.
He worked as an airplane woodworker before being drafted into the Army in December 1942. He served as an airplane mechanic in Normandy, France, Ger-many and Belgium. He earned EAME Theater Ribbon with one Silver Star and two Bronze Service Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge and World War II Victory Ribbon.
He married Inez Fridley April 16, 1946, in Wellington, Kan. She died Jan. 14, 1990.
He attended National Training School in California and became a member of International Heavy Machinery Engineers Local 12 until his retirement in 1978. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 704 and Arabian Horse Association.
