Waukomis Cemetery


Funeral services for Charles L. Hromas, 74, 2529 W. Broadway, will be at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

Dr. Robert J. Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Hromas, a native of Brainard, Nebraska, died Thursday night in a local hospital following a short illness. He came to Oklahoma at an early age, the family settling on a claim west of Waukomis. He later farmed between Lahoma and Meno before moving to Enid 16 years ago. Thomas was a civil service employee at Vance AFB for 20 years before his retirement in 1960.

He and Irene Scott were married in Enid December 1, 1919, and she survives him.

Hromas was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Argonne Post No. Four of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles F. Hromass of Aurora, Colorado; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Shaughnessy of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Mrs. Bud (Guida) Thomas of Crescent; a sister, Mrs. Albin Vaverka of Hennessey; 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
