Hennessey
The funeral for Florence Elizabeth Brown Herrin, 98, will be 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church. Clarence Herrin Jr., minister, and the Rev. Randy Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1905, in Covington to Purley Andrew and Gertrude Ann Allen Brown and died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Hennessey Care Center.
She graduated from Covington High School in 1922 and attended Phillips University. She taught school and worked in the post office. She also worked at Ben Franklin and C.R. Anthony's in Hennessey, and at Armor in Enid during World War II. She and Clarence E. Herrin were married Nov. 13, 1924, in Enid.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence Jr. of Honobia and Dwaine of Cassville, Mo.; one sister, Marjorie House of McCurtain; one brother, Charles Leonard Brown of Gilmore, Texas; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, three sisters and one grandchild.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Russell Murray Hospice.

Hennessey – Clarence E. Herrin, 74, died early Friday in an Enid hospital following an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Gritz Acres Christian Church at Hennessey with the Rev. Clarence E. Herrin Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Cordry and Sons Funeral Home, Hennessey.
Herrin was born and grew up east of Bison. He farmed in that area, moving to Hennessey in 1962. On November 13, 1924, he married Florence Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; two sons, Clarence E. Herrin Jr., Hennessey, and Dwaine Herrin, Cassville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and 10 great – grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Gritz Acres Christian Academy.
