Virginia Irene (Deck) Howard
Saturday, September 8th, 1928 - Wednesday, November 8th, 2023

Funeral services for Virginia Irene (Deck) Howard, age 95, of Owasso, formerly of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 13, 2023 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Waukomis Cemetery will follow under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Virginia was born September 8, 1928 in Covington, Oklahoma, to Bill and Minnie (Henneke) Deck, and passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Owasso, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. The Deck family lived east of Covington on a farm where she attended Keystone rural school, graduating from Covington High School in 1946. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Charles Willie Howard, and they made their home in Enid. Virginia was right by Charlie's side in their business endeavors of Howard's Trailer Park and The Gambles Store. Along with helping in their businesses, Virginia tended to the home and their children.

In 1970, the family moved to Medford where they ran Howard's Hardware and The Gambles Store. After Charlie passed away, Virginia returned to Enid to work for many years at Walmart and continued to run their trailer park. Virginia was a member of Central Christian Church and attended a senior group at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed her membership at the YMCA where she attended water-walking classes for many years and she participated in activities at the Enid Senior Center. She was very proud of her grandchildren and loved attending their activities and babysitting.

Those left to cherish Virginia's memory include her three children, Cathy Stowers and husband Scott, of Skiatook, OK; Larry Howard and wife Theresa, of Camdenton, MO; Robert Howard and wife Cheri, of Wichita, KS; her 10 grandchildren and their spouses; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Doris Sturgill, of Yukon, OK also survives her as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Charles Howard, her parents Bill and Minnie Deck, her siblings Bill Deck, Helen Deck and infant sister Catherine Deck.

Memorial contributions in Virginia's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
