July 4, 1926 - February 2, 2022
Graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Evelyn Delores Hampton will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Waukomis Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Evelyn was the second child born to Joe C. and Anna Hromas on July 4, 1926, and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at the age of 95 surrounded by her family. At the age of 10 her dad unexpectedly passed away and left her and her sister Marcella and mother Anna to continue operating the family farm, which is still in the family today. This was no easy feat.
Evelyn married Neal Hampton on May 17, 1946, and from this marriage came Joe Neal, Claudia Ann, and Hal Brent. In her earlier years, she loved traveling with Claudia and going to Lake City, Colorado, every summer, spending time with family and friends and fishing for trout. In her later years, she enjoyed her dog companions, Lucy, Desi and Sadie, and sitting outside in the evenings with family and friends, watching the birds and squirrels that came to her feeders and bird bath.
She was a strong, independent woman until her passing. She touched the lives of many.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; daughter Claudia Ann Kinman; grandson, Jason Neal Hampton; and beloved sister Marcella. She is survived by sons Joe Neal and Joan, Hal Brent and Carol; son-in-law, Dan Kinman; granddaughter, Jennie Brinkley and Micheal; great-granddaughters Hannah and Jessie Hampton and Reagan Brinkley; great-grandson, Cooper Brinkley; and other special family members: Morgan Smith, Andy and Jessica Smith, and Josh and Melissa Cordes.
Memorials may be made to either Enid SPCA or Hospice Circle of Love, with the funeral home acting as custodian. Condolences may be made online at www.ladusauevans.com.
