DRUMMOND — Funeral service for Bruce Gungoll, 71, of Drummond, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Epps officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Waukomis Cemetery . Visitation with family and friends will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Bruce was born to Clarence and Alma Dee (Anderson) Gungoll Sept. 21, 1939, in Enid and died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, in Enid.
He grew up on the family farm, south of Drummond on the Bison Road, and graduated from Waukomis High School. He attended Panhandle State and then graduated from Oklahoma State University.
Bruce taught science and was principal at Marshall High School.
On Aug. 4, 1971, he married Jane Sowers in Garber. Bruce taught one year at Drummond and farmed. He later retired from teaching at Waller Jr. High, where he taught 8th grade science. Bruce is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; daughters, Debora Wyatt of Fayetteville, N.C, and Mayme Dee Patnaude and husband Matthew of North Platte, Neb.; son, Greg William Gungoll of Enid; four grandchildren, Ashley, Catie, Sara and Claire; two great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Brooke; brother, Tommy Gungoll and wife Georgiana of Enid; and nephew, Todd Bruce Gungoll and wife Melissa of Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Waukomis Cemetery Pavilion.
