ENID — Mass of Christian burial for Benny E. Fuxa, 76-year-old Bison resident, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bison, with Rev. Joseph Arledge, celebrant, and Pastor Dave Jones assisting. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Benny was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Bison the son of John A. Fuxa and Mary C. (Musil) Fuxa, and died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, in Enid.
Benny grew up on the family farm near Bison and attended Bison School until 8thgrade. He then attended school in Waukomis, graduating from Waukomis High School, and then served in the U.S. Army.
On March 1, 1960, he married Marilyn M. Cain. They made their home on the family farm near Bison.
Benny was a farmer and also a carpenter for Larry McClure. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bison Lion’s Club and the Polka Club. Benny enjoyed dancing, camping with his family andwoodworking crafts with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; two sons, Ernie Fuxa (Marta) and Ryan Fuxa (Marla); one daughter, Lisa Maly (Clarence), all of Waukomis; seven grandchildren, Shane Laubhan, Katrina Fuxa, Little Ryan Fuxa, Jeff Maly, Kyle Maly, Tucker Fuxa and Wyatt Fuxa; five great-grandchildren, Madison Hicks, Ethan, Lauren and Conner Laubhan and Annabelle Maly; and sister, Evelyn Traynor of Enid.
Benny is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to Waukomis Fire & Rescue Association or Waukomis Christian Church Youth Group.
