Funeral service for Gloria A. Dixon, 85, of Waukomis, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Waukomis Christian Church. Rev. David Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Gloria was born on Aug. 5, 1928, in Osage, Okla., to John W. and Mabel M. Sisson Pulliam and passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
She graduated from high school in Chase, Kan., in 1945.
She lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas and worked as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage.
She married Glenn Dixon on Dec. 7, 1946, in Great Bend, Kan. Together, they lived in several towns in Kansas, Jennings, La., and moved to Oklahoma in 1970.
She was a member of Waukomis Christian Church and served in several capacities, choir, organist, board and several committees. She was a member of the Waukomis Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and served as officer for many years, also as a district deputy.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Dixon and wife Linda of Moore and Scott Dixon of Elk City; seven grandsons; brother, Phil Pulliam and wife Adele of Wichita, Kan.; and sister, Sharon Yoder and husband Dean of Geneseo, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Earl Dixon; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Dixon and Patty Dixon; parents and grandparents.
Memorials can be given to Waukomis Christian Church with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
